About Me

Childhood

Iresh grew up in Bangladesh with his younger sister, Sriya Sharbojoya. Home felt close to the world of screen performance because both parents worked in that space, yet he learned early that curiosity matters more than pedigree. He watched people closely, noticed how stories connect strangers, and carried a quiet confidence that would later serve him on set. Those early years gave him a steady center and a respect for craft that still anchors his work.

Education

He finished school at Scholastica, Dhaka, in 1994. Then he moved abroad to study at Lawrence University, where he majored in Economics and Anthropology and minored in Mathematics. Campus life was full and varied. Choir rehearsals, debating clubs, cultural societies, and student counseling shaped how he listens and how he leads. Meeting people from many backgrounds taught him something simple and lasting. Differences are real, but common ground is what lets us build together. He later completed a master’s degree in Development Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, adding rigor to the empathy he was already practicing.

Background

Acting was not the original plan of Iresh Zaker. After returning to Bangladesh with his master’s degree, he did a short stint as a voiceover artist. A studio visit led to an offer for a television role, and he set himself a clear window to prove he belonged. If he could earn his place, he would keep going. That resolve paid off. He believes the core skill for any actor is confidence in front of the camera. Growing up around acting gave him familiarity, but he holds that talent is open to anyone who shows up with discipline and heart. Alongside his screen work, he serves as Managing Director of Asiatic 3Sixty and continues to explore photography and writing. The through line is simple – use creativity to lift the industry in Bangladesh and tell human stories that travel.

Iresh’s Career Journey

Screen Work

Iresh stepped into acting in 2006 with “Batasher Khacha” on Channel i, sharing the frame with his father, Aly Zaker. He moved to cinema in 2012 with “Chorabali.” His turn as Danny in “Chuye Dile Mon” earned the Bangladesh National Film Award in 2015 for Best Performance in a Negative Role. Audiences have since seen him in films like “Swapnajaal” and “Debi,” while he continues steady work across television and streaming. The through line is a grounded presence that lets stories breathe.

Advertising and Media Leadership

Beyond the set, Iresh leads as Group Managing Director at Asiatic 3sixty, stewarding creative businesses and teams. He also serves within the group’s media ventures, including a director role at Radio Shadhin. Peers in the industry elected him president of the Television and Digital Programme Producers Association of Bangladesh in April 2019, a nod to his commitment to the broader creative community.

Voice, Music, and Creative Pursuits

The first steps of Iresh Zaker’s career were behind the mic. He voiced radio dramas, documentaries, commercials, and segments for “Sisimpur,” the Bangladeshi edition of Sesame Street. Music shaped his early years too. As a student he helped form and briefly fronted the band Cryptic Fate before choosing a different path. He still keeps an artist’s eye through photography and writing, a practice that feeds the empathy and detail in his screen work
